So I'm just gonna give you the quick and dirty(That's what she said!, gotta throw that in for A-dubbs) version of the past week.

No Pics, no videos, no questions asked

Now you will understand the name of my blog, as I find the longer you don't update your blog, the less you remember all the funny things that happened

So here we go from memory, point form of course, life is nothing but a bunch of point-forms rolled into one big story.

Thursday is the new Friday! Thursday

-Hip hop karaoke @ The Boat in Kensington Martket
-time of my life, something about seeing a middle-age jewish guy in a shirt and tie doing Mos Def or Nas (click here to see) had me hooked.

Double Missions Friday

-Usual "Dutty Friday" with the after work crew experiencing the 420, obs.
- Of course Croc Roc, cheap drinks, potenial cougar hunting if we stay late enough (We never do...seriously we don't)
-Bonus b-lazing sessions just before I have to take the Gotrain. Not a fun ride. Thanks Shreena.
-Then off to Squeeze(a nightclub in Oakville, that's right Oakville, so what?) to see some old friends and listen to Fern as she wanted to make a light drinking night and ended up hanging out with a good friend Crane in the bathroom stall all night.

Brokeback Saturday

-Not what you think! I like girlies.
-Interlocking bricks for A-Dubbs with Krazy Kelly(He's like a machine). Ten hours of that and your back would be broken too.
-Saw the Insurgentlemen tear up the battle of the bands @ the Katherdral(Don't go there unless you have to)

Worst Luck Sunday

-lost @ poker at ryan's
-lost @ blackjack at casino niagara
-lost my appetite @ the Keg. Apparently. well done is the new medium rare when ordering a steak. How come I didn't get the memo? Meal with free though, what I ate of it at least.

Sounds Like Someone Has a Case of the Mondays

-Who likes coming on a Monday? I do, I get so much accomplished at work, but actual work just gets in the way sometimes.
-I'm a geek, I buy an xbox360, when I already have one, to try and make money or get free stuff by making a profit, which I did of course, all I spent was a little time.
-Rocks mission... always a good time when the crew is there, you know who you are. No need to names but I will if you're reading this and you want me to.

Wii Tuesday
-Played the Nintendo Wii for the first time with miQ and Leesha, I am and amazing Wii bowler, real bowling not so much. Avg Wii bowling score 192 Avg Real bowling score 92, gotta love video games they allow you to do thing you can't do in real life.
-Burrito Boyz for dinner- try the halibut burrito
-Something about to guys going into a store and buying a game called "Cooking Mama" just doesn't seem right..no miq? Blockbuster guy "Rrrrright... its for your wife... sure."
-Then off to Campbellville for some NHL 08 and cigarette party

Whacked out Wednesday
- Overtired at work, started getting the shakes, need sleep.
-Quick mission to chill with Insurgentlemen, @ the studio, for a dube and beers, while listening to songs called "Attack the fat kid","905", and "The War on Drugs"
-2nd Rocks mission(Tim Horton's) in a week, haven't done that in a while, but people kept showing up so I had to chill, Anjay, of course, got there for last call, so I basically closed down the rocks mission and was the last to leave. Why does everyone always leave me?

City and Colour, Girl Talk, and 1st Overheard in T.O.

City and Colour, on Tuesday, after working a couple hours of OT and not eating anything all day besides a Chinese BBQ pork bun, I was feeling anything less than energetic. I did suck it up though and made my way to the Danforth Music Hall (One of my favouite concert venues). For all you Mandy Moore fans, she is playing an upcoming show there, btw not a fan.

City and Colour, is actually the singer from alexisonfire, Dallas Green, and this is his solo project, although he brought a backing band this time around. I wasn't impressed with the new style, but it kinda grew on me and he also did a lot of songs solo. He did play a lot of covers, Neil Young, The Band and his own band Alexisonfire.

Review from the free weekly paper I read, Eyeweekly

So last night was Girl Talk, read previous posts, for more info. The show was amazing, but hot as hell, a lot of body heat in a conifned space. I did feel kinda old @ The Phoenix, but considering it was a 19+ show, I should've not felt like that.

Typical concert occurences:
-Smoke too many cigarettes
-Bought random vinyl from the merch table
-Get home later than I should

Now on too some fun stuff, a couple of years ago I was told about this website, http://www.overheardinnewyork.com/, basically overheard conversations in New York posted on a website, I guess they branched out to overheard in the office, beach, etc.

So I decided to start a little Overheard in Toronto, here in my blog

Nicknames

Everyone seems to have a nickname, I have been called a lot of things (good and bad), but nothing has really stuck over the year, well except maybe "G", but that's not really a nickname.

Names I have been called Geans, Gean-dog, G-nuts, Ross (like from friends) What do you think my nick name should be?

Short post are so much easier, no link, no pics, no videos, no effort

That gets boring sometime so, I will post a video of the new Hard-Fi video-Suburban Knights, off their new album Once Upon A Time In The West. This song for some reason hypes me up as a walk downtown on the way to work, gotta turn up loud.

Sunday@ V-Fest & Upcoming week

Well it didn't look like the weather was gonna hold up on Sunday but luckily the weather was great and least for me overcast and around 20C.

Overall the festival was really good, the set lengths seem to be the biggest issue with me, just when the set would get getting good, it was over. Tokyo Police Club, Metric and K-OS, were victims of that. TPC has it the worst though, as their set was (attempted to be) cut short as the stage manager was giving the infamous(throat slash geture) to them. The lead singer, Dave decided to plead on stage to play one more song, when the guy said "NO!" they ignored him and basically saying screw the MAN, played one more for their fans. The stage manager had the last laugh as he went on stage and stole the lead guitarists' guitar just as Josh was about to pick it up for his solo, You Win, stage manager... You Win,

I think the Editors was the best set on Sunday, that nobody saw. I ventured out to see them play... by myself! just before the Killers set ended. It was well worth it, they played all the songs( except one(All Sparks) I wanted to hear, which was why it was probably the best sets of the festival, but their live show is truly amazing.

Let's just say we had a falling out, and now they gonna make it big. Day 2 of V-Fest

Such a long day but well worth it.

The one thing about festival shows is that band that play earlier in the day pretty much get like a only 30-45 min set, which suck because they can't play a lot of songs. So they tend to not play some of my favourite songs. That was the case for Paolo Nutini and the absence of Last Request seen in my previous post, as was the case for most bands.

K-os- didn't play Flypaper
Artic Monkeys- didn't play 505

So I will have to give the best set to Interpol, they played all the songs I wanted to hear. Best performance though hands down, has to be M.I.A., when she invites everyone on stage and basically turns it into a club, you know the performance was good, here's a sample from lollapalooza:

Bjork is hard to get into, once you've been outside all day and are on your way back to see her with funnel cake with ice cream in hand, walking for 15mins back to the stage and losing one of the funnel cakes on the way, poor Steph.

So again trying to keep this short but there were a lot of funny stories and a bunch of weirdos seen thoughout the day.

The busy weekend- The Last Request

I guess I can start off from Thursday, basically where the weekend began, my co-worker and I went to see Superbad... f'ing hiliarous.

So today is The Virgin Music Festival on Toronto Island. But I thought I would start the offical weekend off right by having drinks at the Madison Pub last night afterwork with some of my old co-workers from Fidelity. Well since I should be getting ready for V-fest, I'm gonna use point to describe my night last night

-4 pints of beer and one bottle
-1 J, smoked on the roof top patio(Because were ruthless!)
-1 request for Tiny Dancer to the Piano Bar guy downstairs, which did get played
-1 waitress, we were totally wrong about, and now is or new favourite waitress, basically because she would talk shit about other tables(loud enough so those tables could hear her) to us and we had the good ol' convo' about The Hills and Facebook(There were girls at the table) Shouts out to you Angelina! She also gave me my new favourite word, click here
-1 absent cell phone the whole night, thanks to eveyone that let me you their phones throughout the night
-1 inferno of a subway ride
-1 combo @ McDonald's in Union Station (thanks for the train delay GO)
-2 mins of passing out before my stop(Thanks for waking me up Amanda, crew you for taking a picture of me while I was sleeping)

So I'll be on Toronto Island today, listening to great music, experiencing the 420 and hopefully not drinking too much. First on the lineup(for me at least) is Paolo Nutini, the song is Last Request, kind of a segway from last night into today.

The 1st Ever Post

I wanted this post to be something historic considering its my first ever post. This blog was created because I have the worst long-term memory, and hopefully will serve as a timeline from this point forward. I had so many ideas for my blog that will eventually come out in as I get better at this whole blogging thing.

I guess it would be good to start off with my birthday, my champagne birthday to be exact. (For those people that don't know, like most people didn't know, is the year your birthday and age are the same. i.e. my 26th birthday on the Aug 26th, that actually really didn't need any explaining) I don't know what you're actually supposed to do on your champagne birthday or why its called that. I looked on the internet...nothing. Or maybe I just didn't look hard enough. If it's not on www.urbandictionary.com or Wikipedia, I've given up.

I usually would post a picture here from my birthday but sadly enough I don't have any. I know there were pictures taken so if anyone has any, please send them to me. I always regret not taking more pictures, hopefully when I get a new camera I will.

Now on to some fun stuff, on the weekend we were feeling very childish, As my friend Ryan was flying this remote control helicopter he found somewhere when we went to his house, and its funny how the stupidest thing can make you laugh so hard(We also smoked ;) beforehand,) They were so fun that we thought we would buy another one at Toys R Us, for $40, well not me, but my friend Brian did. We were so amazed on how it works. Were simple folk, I guess.

The Editors- New album "End Has A Start" I can't get enough of. Favourite tracks Smokers Outside Hospital Doors, End Has A Start and Bones.

Wolf Parade- Revisited "Apologies To The Queen Mary" I can't believe it took me this long to fully appreciate this album. Favourite tracks Shine a Light, Sons and Daughters of Hungry Ghosts, and It's a Curse.

Ben Kweller- Self titled album is not as great as Sha Sha, but its good in its own way. Favourite tracks Run, I Gotta Move, Penny On a Train Track.

I won't post the mp3's here, maybe in the future, in the meanwhile just "youtube" the songs.

I read a good article on Pitchfork today, its basically about really focusing on what music you're listening to and also to discover new music by giving away all of your music you own and start fresh, I would never do it, but its definitely a cool idea.(If my description doesn't make any sense, and I know it doesn't, read the article)
